Ao consultar experts em peças antigas, levaram um susto: O pote tinha mais de 1.000 anos, pertencia a Dinastia Chinesa Northern Song, que governou a China do ano 960 até 1.127. Outra peça similar somente no Museu Britânico, no mesmo lugar há 60 anos. Os leiloeiros da Sotheby's disseram que o pote estava com a família desde 2007 e que conseguiram $ 2,2 milhões de dólares pela peça...nada mal para algo esquecido num canto da casa...

A Chinese bowl that a New York family picked up for $3 at a garage sale turned out to be a 1,000 year old treasure and has sold at auction for $2.2 million
Sotheby’s said the bowl was from the Northern Song Dynasty, which ruled China from 960 to 1127 and is known for its cultural and artistic advances.The auction house said the only other known bowl of similar size and design has been in the collection of the British Museum for more than 60 years.
