Carros- nome do veículo + sigla (o que quer dizer a sigla?)

Todo carro, nacional ou importado vem com o nome do veículo e uma sigla, que sempre atiça a curiosidade de todos. Os fabricantes criam a versão de um automóvel de acordo com critérios específicos e subjetivos.

Segue abaixo por ordem alfabética o significado das siglas:

4×4 - Representação numérica do tipo de tração do veículo, em que as quatro rodas são motrizes.

4WD - Four Wheel Drive, carros com tração nas quatro rodas.

AWD - All Wheel Drive, identifica os carros equipados com tração integral nas quatro rodas.

Cauda Kamm - Desenho de carroceria alusivo ao aerodinamicista alemão Wunibald Kamm, que concebeu o corte abrupto na traseira, com o objetivo de criar um conjunto perfeitamente aerodinâmico.

CD - Comfort Diamond (conforto diamante).

CL - Comfort Luxe (conforto de luxo).

CS - Comfort Super (conforto super).

CSL - Comfort Super Luxe (conforto super luxo).

DLX - De Luxe (de luxo).

EFI - Electronic Fuel Injection (injeção eletrônica de combustível).

Elegant - Elegante, equipada com itens adicionais de conforto e segurança.

ELX - Electronic Luxe Extra (versão eletrônica de luxo extra).

EX - Economic (versão econômica ou “E” de econômico e “X” de extra, para indicar itens de conforto complementares).

Executive - Executivo.

Express - Expresso, remete ao uso utilitário de entregas de carga.

GHIA - Nome de um famoso estúdio italiano de estilo, que identifica as versões mais luxuosas.

GL - Gran Luxe (grande luxo).

GLS - Gran Luxe Super (grande luxo super).

GLX - Gran Luxe Extra (grande luxo extra).

GSI - Gran Sport Injection (grande esporte injeção).

GT - Gran Turismo ou Gran Touring.

GTA - Gran Touring Automatic.

GTI - Gran Turismo Injection.

GTS - Gran Turismo Sport.

HGT - High Grand Tourism.

HLX - High Luxury, alto luxo ou High Level Extra, alto nível extra.

Initiale - Inicial.

Kompressor - Compressor (carros equipados com compressor para encher os cilindros com pressão superior à atmosférica).

L - Luxo.

LX - Luxo Extra.

LS - Luxo Super.

MPFI - Multipoint Fuel Injection (injeção de combustível multiponto).

MPI - Multipoint Injection (injeção multiponto).

RL - Ranking Low (ranking inferior).

RN - Ranking Normal (ranking normal).

RT - Ranking Top (ranking topo) or Road and Track.

RXE - Ranking Extra (ranking extra).

S - Super.

SLX - Super Luxo.

Stile - Estilo.

SULEV - Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (veículo de emissões superultrabaixas).

Supercharger - Superalimentado (carros com enchimento dos cilindros com pressão superior à atmosférica).

SUV - Sport Utility Vehicle (veículo utilitário esportivo).

SX - Standard Extra.

SW - Station Wagon (perua).

Targa - Carros semiconversíveis, cujo teto pode ser parcialmente removido entre a moldura do pára-brisa e um arco de proteção largo atrás do motorista e passageiro.

Turbo - Carros equipados com turbina para encher os cilindros com pressão superior à atmosférica.

Twin Cam - Carros com motor equipado com duplo comando de válvulas.

XL - Extra Luxe (luxo extra).

XR - Experimental Research (pesquisa experimental) ou Extra Racing (competição extra).

XLT - Extra Luxo Total.

Wind - Vento.

Working - Trabalho (para carros utilitários).
